NATIONAL EXPANSION PLAN OF NICs

Pakistan has a 60% young population, however due to a lack of employment possibilities, the majority of the youth are still unemployed. However, the country's adoption of new communication technologies has resulted in the growth of a tech-based entrepreneurial culture. Young entrepreneurs need proper guidance and a platform is needed to convert raw business ideas into profitable ones that is why Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), supported and funded by the federal government, introduced Pakistan's first incubator (Plan9) in August 2012 and has since expanded its incubation programs across Pakistan under NIC's National Expansion Plan.

About NEP of NICs

Through the development of an integrated ecosystem of startups from all across Pakistan, the National Expansion Plan of NICs, an initiative of the Punjab Information Technological Board (PITB) and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), seeks to construct the largest technological incubation hub. In collaboration with public universities, the National Expansion Ran of NICs has opened incubation centers in six regions and thirteen locations. There are currently 13 incubation centers spread out over Pakistan that offer resources and tools to help businesses get ready for potential business problems. Over 250 firms have been fostered since the National Expansion Plan's launch, and over 4000 startup applications have been submitted.

The Launchpad

The Launchpad is the go-to startup induction event. Candidates go through a standardized procedure that includes two rounds of pitching their goods or services. Startups that successfully complete The Launchpad's final round are accepted into the center they applied for the 6-month incubation programme.

In one of their thirteen programme locations, you can speed up your startup.
